Marni sent their spring and summer 2011 collection down the runway earlier today during Milan Fashion Week. The collection was bright, colorful and full of patterns. Marni's displayed styles that were mostly daytime looks and the handbag collection followed suit. Marni showed a variety of small, slightly structured hobos on the runway which were in stark contrast to the soft leather handbags designers have been showing for spring and summer during Milan Fashion Week as well as New York and London's fashion weeks. Marni showed small and medium sized hobos on the Milan Fashion Week runway. The leather on Marni's hobo was medium-soft and gave the hobo bags slightly more structure than the hobo bags shown by other designers this month for spring and summer. While other designers such as Vera Wang and Bottega Veneta showed large, soft hobos on the runway, Marni showed a dressier version of the handbag that can easily be worn to the office or on the weekend, as opposed to the large, soft hobo which is primarily a casual, weekend handbag. The handles on Marni's hobo bags were woven leather and contrasted in color to the bag itself. The white hobo featured a black handle while a tan and white woven hobo featured a tan handle. The solid colored hobos were neutral; tan, black and white.
