Roberto Cavalli sent his spring and summer 2011 collection down the Milan Fashion Week runway this morning and it was filled with hippie chic styles lined in fringe. The hemlines were long as were the shoulder straps on the handbags. Roberto Cavalli strayed from his usual tight fitting, leopard print styles and instead opted for slim, long dresses and skirts which graced the floor and were decorated in fringe, sheer fabric and muted tone colors. The handbag collection was equally different from past Roberto Cavalli collections as they were all variations of one distinct style; the long strap shoulder bag heavily fringed. Roberto Cavalli's long shoulder strap handbag hit the models at the bottom of the hip and was medium to large in size. The handbag featured a top zipper and three levels of suede fringe. There were details such as seashells interspersed with the fringe on the handbags. The smaller shoulder bags had even longer fringe in one layer. The long fringe that was on the small shoulder bags touched down to the knees on models almost hiding the bag itself. The handbags shown on Roberto Cavalli's Milan Fashion Week runway would be awkward in real life. It should be interesting to see if buyers ask Cavalli to trim the fringe a bit before sending them to store shelves. Do not miss out on my handbag articles!
